ASL 1. Topics include: basic vocabulary, grammar, history, fingerspelling, numbers, terminology, and Deaf culture and history. The course is structured to help the students build basic expressive and receptive skills in American Sign Language and to understand the cultural values, beliefs, and behavioral norms of the Deaf community. This is an instructor guided course with independent studies. During class time the students are provided with lectures and group activities to learn new skills and to reinforce, review, and practice what has been learned in class. (Adults- 1hr. sessions).
NOTE: MINIMUM OF 4 STUDENTS TO RUN THE CLASS.
